At INENI, we forge something far more than an acronym. AKATL (pronounced Akatl), which in classical Nahuatl means "cane" or, by extension, "arrow," is a concept-archetype that condenses the ancestral wisdom of the native peoples and the modern struggle against technological hegemony.

AKATL (the reed) is a wild plant. Its new shoots emerge from the buds on its nodes; it is perennial, durable, flexible. It grows upward, facing the sun, containing moisture, retaining the earth. The reed is that which contains and is in equilibrium. It grows from within, seeking rectitude, seeking the sun. Acatl invites us to cultivate equilibrium and flexibility, WILLPOWER: hardness in actions, firmness in decisions, flexibility to avoid breaking. Let us have the will to grow by adapting to our environment, containing ourselves from within.

As an arrow, it represents clear direction, sure decision, and action focused on an objective. There is no doubt; one aims and releases.

We adopted AKATL because it perfectly embodies our mission. We are not reactive; we are proactively directional, seeking rectitude, seeking the sun. Just as the reed—like the arrow—requires a clear ixtli (face, mind) and a firm yollotl (heart, will) to grow and reach its destination, INENI requires a critical consciousness (Konsciousness) and decisive action to achieve technological sovereignty. It inspires us not to be spectators, but warrior-strategists of cyberspace.

The ultimate goal of AKATL is to be the guiding principle that leads us to light the New Digital Fire (Xiuhmolpilli): a decolonized, communal, and liberating technological era where peoples exercise full autonomy over their digital tools.

Our AKATL follows a sacred trajectory:

AKATL. Cane and arrow born in the East. It travels in a curve with strategic force toward the West, cuts across the South, and impacts in the North.

1. Born in the East [the direction that creates and defines its sharp purpose]. Here, from oral tradition, is where the Unique Radiance originates. The East is the beginning of all creation. TlawitzTlampa is the pure impulse that gives origin to TlaWilli, the Light. In our conception and adaptation, that light is sovereign technology. This direction represents the "cutting edge of purpose" of our technological arrow: the critical consciousness (konsciencia) that sharpens it from its origin. It is the unbreakable ethical decision that every tool must be born free, open-source, and must be designed from and for our communities, illuminating the path towards originary sovereignty. It is the mandate to create, to be inspired; to illuminate and undertake one's own path.

2. Travels toward the West [the direction that maintains a clear course toward transformative union]. From oral tradition, the Light began its journey in the East with a clear objective: to unite with its feminine duality, Omeh Tziwatl, who resides in the TziwuaTlampa. In our conception and adaptation, it is not a sunset, but the direction that defines and maintains the course of our technology. It is the conscious strategy that recognizes that, to achieve the final union with full sovereignty (the realized East), we must tactically transit through this direction, utilizing technologies from allies in a multipolar world. It is an act of love and strategy, not submission; a necessary step to break resistances and advance towards liberation, never losing sight of the final goal of union and wholeness.

3. Courses through the South [the direction that breaks hegemonic resistances and chains, and weaves community]. Following oral tradition, the Light travels and, in doing so, tears through the gloom with its vigor, like a thorn piercing the blackness. WitzTlampa is the manifestation of Omeh Tekuhtli directing its force with will. For us, this direction embodies the power of technology to penetrate and overcome the barriers of hegemonic systems. It is the arrow's edge in action, cutting through the air of hegemonic dependency. But this is not a solitary struggle: the South is also the heart of community. The thorn that breaks oppression is the same one that weaves alliance and cooperation. Together, like a network of luminous fabrics, we strengthen our vigor and enact the will of our yollotl (heart), aligned with the hearts of our communities, environments, and cosmos.

4. Impacts in the North [the direction that impacts and transforms reality]. For oral tradition, the Light's journey has its ultimate destination in the North, the infinite, feminine realm of Omeh Tziwatl, the Darkness. But here, "darkness" is not absence, but pure potential, the matrix of all transformation. MikTlampa is the moment of transformative impact where there is no longer light or darkness, only life. We carry this concept into the digital realm: it is where the liberating technological arrow hits its target and everything is irrevocably altered. The light of consciousness illuminates material reality, transforming it: it democratizes knowledge, strengthens organization, protects privacy. This is the rebirth: the death of ignorance and the old oppressive structures, and the emergence of a new technological life that will, where possible, offer digital sovereignty to every person who uses it.

Just as this principle guides us in the flow and weaving of INENI, we keep our feet firmly planted in material reality. We recognize, with dialectical honesty, that our current technological environment is still a battlefield.

We celebrate that between 85% and 91% of our key infrastructure and tools are already free from Zionist-American technological hegemony. This is a significant tactical victory that gives us considerable room to maneuver.

However, we persist in a surmountable contradiction: ecosystems, specific applications, and niches of specialized software still exist for which, at this historical moment, there are no fully viable, mature, or sovereign alternatives. We do not deny this residual dependency; we identify it with the Konsciousness of the Eastern direction and confront it by traveling through the strategy of the Western direction.

Our commitment is twofold:

1. Mitigate: Use these tools with the maximum possible restriction, encapsulating them and denying them access to sensitive data, while...
2. Build: Allocate R&D resources and efforts to either find alternatives in the multipolar ecosystem or develop our own, thus fulfilling the promise of the Southern direction (Sovereign Forge).

From Nahuatl philosophy, the human being is a project, a work to be built on this earth. AKATL is the invitation for us to be conscious projects in constant construction and liberation.

This principle is not just INENI's; it belongs to every people that yearns to breathe freely in cyberspace. To appropriate AKATL is to understand that choosing a technology is not a trivial act of consumption; it is a profoundly political and spiritual act, a vote for the world we wish to inhabit.

In this era of hybrid wars and digital colonialism, more than ever we must be like the cane/arrow: light but firm, accurate but flexible, directional and sharp. May our ixtli (mind) analyze with cold precision and may our yollotl (heart, will) burn with the desire to live free from oppressions and colonial dependencies.

May our own Akatl never stop flying towards the goal of total transformation, always bearing in mind that an arrow, in flight, knows where it came from, fixes its eye on where it is going, and, in that transit, comes to know its heart.
